What is a "Photo Bus?" Let us tell you!

Maggie The Wandering Photo Bus is not the only kind of photo booth out there. Keep reading to find out what booth works best for your event!

Maggie is a mobile photo booth. Thus means she can be brought to you. Not only this but she can provide you with two kinds of photo opportunities. These opportunities include using the interior or exterior. Maggie can be used as a backdrop of a green VW bus to pose in front of or a photo booth where people can sit in and await the countdown for their photo strips to take home or share with others.

At a wedding, Maggie can be placed outside or inside (as long as there is space) and can be set up to look her best. Those using the booth can leave their photos for the bride and groom or take or them for themselves. With a photo bus, like I had mentioned before, the purpose is not just a booth but also a background for photos. With Maggie or any photo bus, one scores with a two- in- one!

Other than a wedding, a mobile photo bus can be booked for any event that has enough space for the booth. The bus can be ready to go in less than forty- five minutes and can provide you with lots of attention from those who are walking by your booth or stopping from or for an event.

Will you choose a mobile booth for your event?

From our segment of Good Day Sacramento, we explained more about Maggie if you still have questions!

Every photo booth is mobile but Maggie is literally….mobile. The most common type of photo booth most people are familiar with is called the Old- School Photo Booth. I mean c’mon, how creative is that?!

If you need a visual, this booth is like the ones in the mall or at roller skating rinks. They have a very simple set up which include the little bench and camera, strips and strip slot, and maybe a curtain! As cute and little as it sounds, they are super easy to use and lots of fun! With the push of a simple button, your strips will be ready for you to take home in no time! These booths are usually sit-in booths where you can only fit about three people in them if you really try.

If you’re not a box person, the Old-School Photo Booth can also be modified so that there is more room for people in the booth. For this, there is no bench and you are to stand. The camera should be at chest level and there should be a curtain surrounding you from all sides.

For most events, the modified-standing Old-School Photo Booth is used most often. This is due to the fact that most events like to keep the crowds comfortable and free.

Now you may be thinking, doesn’t Maggie the Wandering Photo Bus have a simple little bench and the answer to that question is yes! However, along with the small little bench, people can crawl in through the back of the bus. At one time we had at least nine people striking a pose in Maggie!

Choosing your booth can be determined by the number of your party or crowd. Think about how many people will use the booth and what you think is best for them!

If sitting or standing in a small enclosed space isn’t your thing, there is many other types of booths that can just as easily provide you with funny photo strips! These kinds of booths have no specific name but I can try and describe it for you!

If you would rather stand and be able to feel free while you are striking a pose, you can hire a photographer who will simply set up their camera on a tripod. With this, the only thing left to figure out is your background, props, and poses.

For any special event, most booths will have already picked out the template for the strip or backdrop so picking this is very unlikely. However, with this, you can stand with your party, squeeze in and countdown with your photographer as they snap your picture. In some cases, the camera would be able to automatically print your photos for you so you can take your strips right after your done setting your props down.

If you’re not for a camera on a tripod then maybe you might like a full body mirror. I think these look super cool and are definitely helpful if you want to fit a big group in the photo. The full body mirror has a camera in it and can double as a mirror and screen. The mirror is helpful to make sure everyone can be seen in the photo. The mirror is touch screen and can be super helpful because the countdown starts with a simple tap on the screen. After a couple poses, the screen will ask how many copies you want. This comes in handy especially when you have a big group. While you put the props back, your photos will be in the process of printing.

Like I had mentioned before, depending on how many people are coming to your event can determine which booth would be best for your event. Not only this but each booth is different and special in their own way. In the end they will print out your photos and give you something to take home.

If you’re in for a more fun time, some booths offer GIFs, slow motion videos or Boomerang from Instagram. These would be accessed through a kiosk that you can have control of. These can be used with the press of a button. The only thing left to decide is what props, what pose and what video!

A GIF just takes four consecutive photos and puts them together to create your own loop that you can share to social media. You can either post it and it will go to the event hashtag or you can share it with yourself. Obviously, since GIFs are videos, I hate to break it to you but you cannot print it out!

If you have a good pose that would be better as a slow-mo, why not do one too? I don’t know about you but making a slow motion video sounds like so much fun! With the push of a button, you can grab your bestie and pose, defying the laws of gravity by jumping in the air or doing a sassy hair flip. The possibilities with these slow motion videos are endless! Along with the GIF, you can share your video with yourself or the hashtag.

Now, I did mention Boomerang from Instagram assuming that you know what that is but, if you don’t, allow me to explain! Instagram is a social media app where you can share photos and videos. One of the features that comes with this app is called Boomerang from Instagram. A Boomerang is short burst of photos that are but together in a loop video. This video plays forward and back, just like a real boomerang that goes forward and comes right back! A Boomerang from Instagram can be directly shared to your Instagram or the event Instagram/hashtag.

Each of these types of videos can be saved and sent to your personal email, phone number, or social media account. Personally, I think this is easier than carrying around your photo strip while you go about your night but really its all personal preference!

Any of these booths can be booked for any event as long as there is enough space that follows. These booths are tons of fun with a big crowd or event! Which booth do you think you will have a blast in?

With the video booths, you obviously cannot print out your GIF, Boomerang from Instagram, or slow- motion video which is super sad but there is a bright side! Like I had mentioned before, you can download them or share them to your social media or phone. Along with this, I had mentioned that you can share your video to the hashtag. This hashtag can be set up by the booth, event, or party hosts.

A hashtag is another easy way for the host of the event to have a copy of all the photos and videos people take in the booth. The hashtag is used most common with a photographer with a tripod but it can work for any type of booth. From taking your photo or video, you may or may not get a physical copy of your photo/video. Rather, your photo/video will be sent to the event hashtag. From here, you can access the hashtag and save it from there or share it on your social media page.

These hashtags may sound confusing but they are actually helpful and allow you to not stress about your night. No matter your event, with these hashtags you can just take your photos and leave rather than carrying around your prints or typing in your email or phone number. Do you think hashtags are the way to go?
